History Loves Benbrook

We’re back with a special staff blog featuring our CFO, Scott Benbrook! Scott has been at Lamy’s since the idea to bring this historic building back to life was born. As we know from previous interviews with Scott, he was a special part of the design process.

Since working inside Lamy’s, Scott has grown to love all parts of the culture. He loves that you get that big city feeling, but with the charm of rural Missouri. He also loves to sit and unwind in Josey Records. “The vibe is just so laid back. It’s a great spot to grab a cocktail and go mill around.”

He also loves being surrounded by new music that he wouldn’t otherwise be exposed to outside of having Josey inside the work building. His favorite new band is Fats Domino, though don’t ask him his favorite song. He hasn’t actually listened to the band…just cracks up at the name!

Benbrook Loves Quail

If you’re new around here, you may not know that Lamy’s released a new menu this past week. Scott’s new favorite dish, the quail, has earned a coveted spot on the menu. Featuring 2 quail, wilted greens, blackberry reduction, mashed potatoes, and poultry gravy, Benbrook says, “It’s hard to find a restaurant that serves quail and there certainly aren’t any to hunt, so this dish kind of takes me back to my childhood when quail was a steady part of our diet.”

When we asked Scott was his favorite drink from the bar was, you may not be surprised by his answer. “Busch Light…some things can’t be changed.” Definitely sounds like something a man who grew up on quail would say!

The good news is that we’ve got Busch Light and a full bar with the best bartenders in Pettis Country ready to serve you. So, grab the family and head on in for a dinner that brings back childhood memories. After all, history loves company!
