History Loves Heat
Our title may be a little misleading if you find yourself a fan of cooler temps. Not everyone loves to be outside in the sun, but we digress. History maybe loves heat because air conditioning and colder interiors weren’t widely available or affordable until the 1940s. Kind of hard to imagine that, isn’t it?
As we’ve battled record heat in our neck of the woods, is there anything that’s felt better than walking into an icy cool blast of air after it’s felt like you’ve been in the depth of hades simply walking from your car into your home? We think not.
It’s hard to wrap one’s mind around using awnings for shade to cool the interiors, or backing our minds up to ancient Egyptian times when courtyards were designed in the middle of homes as a way to promote good airflow and cooler temps.
Inside the walls of Lamy’s, air conditioning was certainly added much later in our existence. Not only was it hot inside these working walls of old, but our sewing machines were operated by steam from heated coal, only adding to the sweltering temps in summer.
Heat Loves the Kitchen
Though you can find immediate relief when you step inside our doors these days, we still keep it hot in the kitchen! With a menu that is constantly changing to ensure you’re getting quality ingredients each season, we know you’ll have confidence in whatever choice you make for lunch or dinner.
If it’s the heat you’re after, consider our spicy burger! Back by popular demand, this 1/2 Angus patty is topped with fried jalapenos, onion tanglers, red onions, and pepper jack cheese. If that’s not enough heat, we kick it up a notch with our spicy aioli spread.
Don’t worry, we’ve got endless options of iced cold beers to wash it all down. Beers aren’t your thing? No judgment here. We’re kind of known for our cocktails, so you’re in good hands no matter what choice you make. The only thing that could top this experience for you? Bringing a friend or eight. After all, history loves company.
