History Loves Fine Wine
Oh hey there, fellow wine-o’s! We can’t wait to talk about the history of wine with you. If you want to know how far back wine goes…well, it was Jesus’ first miracle. So, it’s a bit of a big deal, you could say, dating back to Biblical times. The American love affair with wine wasn’t established until much later than the days of Noah. In fact, the 16th century brought European settlers here that started making wine with the native grape known as Muscadine.
Today, every single state in the US produces wine, though almost 90% of the US wine production comes from California. If you’re new to wine, you may not know that we have to use different grapes than they do in the Old World because of the pests that thrive in our wetter climates. Because California stays dry year-round, the grapes thrive there, and the wine is superb. Hello, Napa Valley! We’re looking at you.
Speaking of Napa, we’re pretty excited about our new fall wine list. We have imported many bottles of wine from our friends in Napa and we can’t wait for you to come and try them! We offer options by the glass as well as the bottle and we promise there’s a glass of wine perfect for all budgets and tastes.
We urge you to bring a friend and order a bottle. Feel free to stay all day. Heck, check out Josey Records while you sip. We’d love to find you your next favorite record while you’re here. We’ve got records for all the people on your Christmas List, too. So, come prepared. After all, history loves company.
