History Loves Bucket Lists
Summer–the season of sandy toes, sun-kissed skin, and questionable fashion choices–we’re looking at you, fanny pack. As we bid farewell to the first half of summer and embrace the sweltering heat that is July in August in mid-Missouri, it’s time to knock off a few items on a summer bucket list that’s as unconventional as a pineapple pizza topping.
- Shop at Josey Records: Discover the joy of vinyl as you peruse our collection of classic hits and wonder why people still pay good money for music they can’t stream. Don’t forget…you can always listen to your faves right here inside at the listening station.
- Eat at No. 5 Bistro: Indulge in a culinary experience that will make your taste buds do the macarena. Our chefs have mastered the art of turning meats and vegetables into pure awesomeness. Just make the reservation.
- Shop at Southern Maven: Unleash your inner fashionista as you browse through the local boutique.
- Chase an Ice Cream Truck: Sedalia has one. So…find it. Then, embrace your inner child as you sprint down the street after the elusive ice cream truck. Just be prepared for the humiliation of getting outrun by a toddler.
- Master the Art of Sunscreen Application: Become a pro at slathering on sunscreen without leaving awkward white streaks or accidentally blinding yourself with SPF 1000.
- Attempt a DIY Project: Channel your inner Picasso as you embark on a Pinterest-inspired DIY project. Just be prepared for it to look nothing like the picture and leave you questioning your creative abilities.
- Attend the State Fair: Delight your taste buds at the Missouri State Fair, where you can indulge in the finest deep-fried delicacies and ponder why everything tastes better on a stick.
- Learn a Ridiculous Tik-Tok Dance: Or honestly…maybe not.
- Conquer a Fear: Face your biggest fear, whether it’s spiders, heights, or clowns (we won’t judge). Just remember to bring a friend who can document your hilarious reaction for future blackmail purposes.
- Host a Backyard BBQ: Gather your friends and family for a legendary backyard BBQ, complete with overcooked burgers, burnt hot dog buns, and the classic game of “Who can endure the most mosquito bites?” Or..skip the bbq and see item #2 on this list.
Disclaimer: We are not responsible for any sunburns, fashion disasters, or dance-induced injuries that may occur during the completion of this bucket list. Proceed with caution. Happy summer, you magnificent humans! See you at Lamy’s. History Loves Company.
