History Loves Help
If you were able to follow along at the rehabilitation of our historic building, maybe you’re wondering just how it all came together. The short answer? Help. CFO, Scott Benbrook had just finished up a large renovation of the old C. W Flowers building, which is now known to Pettis County as The Venue.
With an entire crew wrapping up one large renovation, it worked out well that they could move themselves and their gear a few blocks north to lend all of the help at Lamy’s. If you’re thinking it was a quick fix, you’re wrong, however. It took almost 5 months of demolition before a single nail was hammered in for the build back.
The first walls started to go up in December in a building that only had maybe 2 live electric outlets at this time and the temperatures were in the single digits inside the building. “I recall drywall being hung in April and paint starting to go on the walls in May and June of 2019,” Benbrook said. Many of the construction workers by this time had begun to frame out the 2nd floor into office spaces. However, it would still be almost a year before the 3rd floor was ready for occupancy.
Help Loves Bloody Brunches
There’s not much better on a Saturday than a bangin’ brunch fueled by the No. 5 Bloody Mary. We fill that cocktail class with vodka, zing zang, celery salt, Worcestershire, hot sauce, and horseradish. We don’t stop there, though. We top that with candied bacon, blue cheese okra, and a celery stalk. It’s too legit to quit. We guarantee it.
Want to switch it up? Add beer to it for our legendary Bloody Buckley or sub in tequila to replace your vodka with our Bloody Maria. We know that no matter which choice you make, it’s the right one! Soak up the cocktails with our B’s and G’s or my personal favorite, the hot honey chicken biscuits. Damn…is it Saturday yet? Catch you at Lamy’s. Bring your peeps with ya. After all, History Loves Company.
