History Loves Lunch
While the employees of the Lamy’s of old didn’t dine out for lunch, they did lunch. Based on what we know of history, the working class ate even their breakfast a few hours after arriving at their workplace. Usually no more than a piece of bread and served with tea or coffee if one could afford it.
Lunches were usually the main meal of ones’ day and were likely a piece of bread and some cooked vegetables with wine. If money allowed, a piece of meat or cheese was added. Typical lunch breaks for the working class were only a half-hour back in the late 1890s, but a welcome reprieve from the physical labor of cutting denim fabric. Nowadays, drinking wine during our lunch hour is sure to get one fired from factory work! Can you imagine?
Lunch Loves Power
The Ox Horn Market just rolled out Power Lunches and we know your company and business will be here for it! Power lunches are unique menus created for your working lunch or meeting times. We work with you to cater the perfect options to get business big done, all while dining in our historic building. We find that to be a win for everyone.
If taking time for lunch just isn’t an option in your busy lives, consider having your small group join us for dinner at No. 5 Bistro and Bar with special seating at our Chef’s Table. If your group is larger, no worries. You can hold your office meeting or Holiday Party inside Lamy’s and we will shut down just for you! Tis the dang season!
Power Loves People
People enjoying life at Lamy’s is one of our greatest joys. And there’s no better way to enjoy life at Lamy’s than with LIVE music! Our friend, Ryan Manuel, is back this Saturday night from 6 pm to 10 pm. Ryan is doing a toy drive and benefit to show to raise funds and bring gifts to kids fighting cancer in honor of his late niece, Willow Rose.
Come on down, dine with us, and let’s help make a difference in the lives of many children this holiday season. There is a silent auction and raffle happening. You’re not going to want to miss this. Bring your family, bring your friends. After all, history loves company!
