History Loves Mizzou
We live in Missouri, so naturally, we’re Mizzou fans. Does this come with pain and hurt on some of the fall Saturdays? You bet your field goals, it does. But, still, we gather, weekend after weekend, game after game to cheer on that black and gold team. It’s in our blood, our DNA, the very fiber of our beings. We quite honestly don’t know any other life. Nor, do we want to. When we’re sitting at Faurot Field, down or up (it does not matter), and that M-I-Z chant starts, we are transformed into something outside of ourselves. And it’s honestly spectacular.
For generation after generation, we’ve bled black and gold. We’re proud of it. We’re there for the ups, the downs, and all that comes in between. When we opened up a bar and bistro, complete with the best brunch in the county, we knew that TVs would be on the wall, fans would come, and football would be watched.
We can’t control our team, the coaches, or really anything that happens on Game Day inside the confines of our majestic stadium. But, what we can control is what you’re served inside the walls of No. 5 Bistro on those football Saturdays. We think it’s best to start with either the No. 5 Bloody Mary or our infamous Bottomless Mimosas. We can assure you that either way, you’re about to be happy. Pro tip: try that Blood Buckley (add beer) or Maria (sub for tequila) style and sub out your standard OJ for Cranberry juice in our mimosa. You’re just gonna have to trust us that the experts on this one.
Then, pick your poison. By poison, we mean anything on the menu, because honestly, it’s all fabulous. We’re a bit partial to the Biscuit Board, though. However, 9 out of 10 times, we choose the special of the day, straight from our chef’s creative mind to your table. It’s always hot, always damn good, and changes weekly.
We can’t guarantee much on football Saturdays, but what we do stand behind is the fact that you’re gonna leave full, possibly tipsy, and satisfied. A MIZZOU win? That’s what we call icing on the cake. Go ahead and book your Saturday brunch reservations. And bring a crowd. After all, history loves company.
