History Loves No.5
What’s in a name? Well, sometimes everything. No.5 Bistro and Bar wasn’t some name we dreamt up overnight. No, its ties are strong inside Lamy’s and date back to right after World War 2 when Lamy’s became a Levi’s factory. We must go back in history a little bit for this one. Back before lot numbers and permanent care labels were included on your jeans, they had a unique way of identifying where your pants were manufactured.
This came in the form of a numbered rivet stamped on the back of the buttons. Because Lamy’s was the 5th place to manufacture Levi’s brand, our button was marked with “No. 5.” If ever there was a batch issue or a recall, that number told Levi’s where said issue was coming from. Make sure you stop by and see our button on display at Lamy’s.
No. 5 Bistro Loves Saturdays
If you’re new around here, we will forgive you for not knowing about the most epic brunch you’ll taste this side of the Mississippi. But, if you know…well, you know. Our Saturdays are stacked with the classics but infused with the rich goodness you’ve come to know and love. From 9am-2pm, you can tickle the tastebuds with anything from “Build Your Own French Toast” to “No. 5 Biscuits and Gravy” and our always infamous “hash of the day.” We promise no matter what you choose, it’s right.
Of course, brunch isn’t brunching without the mimosas and we serve ours up tall, fancy, and with the freshest squeezed OJ straight from our friends at Nourish. You’re needing options? Oh, we got you covered there as well, try your mimosa with cranberry juice! Or, order one of our Lamy’s Bloody Marias! Coming in HOT with Casamigos Blanco, tajin rims, sriracha, our house-made candied bacon, and pickled okra hand stuffed with blue cheese. What do you call that? A win.
Saturday Loves Football
It’s true. College football season is upon us and for some of us, that’s the greatest season of all. We enjoy our brunch with a large side of M-I-Z! We’ve always got the games on so don’t worry about rushing off on our account. Beers and ball is basically a holiday and we intend to celebrate it properly!
Not a football fan? We can’t be friends. We’re kidding! We’ve got a place for you here on Saturdays as well. Hit up Josey’s and read a book, flip through a magazine or take that new record for a spin at one of our listening stations. Feeling the need to “treat yo self??” Grab a drink and head upstairs to Southern Maven. She’s got the goods for your home, yourself, or maybe even a friend or two? After all, history loves company.
