History Loves Staff (Taylor Mabry)

We’re back highlighting some of our staff and this week we spent some time with Josey Records own Taylor Mabry! Taylor is a vital asset to our Lamy team as she runs the register, helps customers find what they are looking for, helps them to discover new music or authors, keeps track of special orders, etc.

Taylor is exceptionally organized and this is key in such a large space with so many books and records. She also helps with content for the Josey Instagram page and for this, everyone is grateful! One of her favorite things about life at Lamy’s is the sheer beauty of this historic site. She loves that even though it’s been renovated and improved, the authenticity of the building remains.

Taylor Loves Stories

One of Taylor’s favorite parts about working at Josey is hearing stories from customers who worked in our very building many, many years ago. They recognize the small details and different parts of the building that have remained unchanged or preserved from their time working here.

Along with listening to stories, Taylor loves to spend her free time reading. This is ideal when working in a book store! One of her favorite books at this time is The Paris Wife by Paula McClain. After reading this book, she was hooked on the author. Along with reading, music is life at Josey Records, and wouldn’t you know, Taylor’s favorite find is Lake Street Dive?! If this band sounds familiar to you, it’s because all three of our staff interviews have talked about their discovery and love of this band thanks to Joseys!

Taylor Loves Taste

When we asked Taylor about her favorite eats at Lamy’s, she answered that the NEW Blue Crab Mac and Cheese with a chocolate martini! Holy smokes if that doesn’t sound like decadence! Taylor went on to say that there’s not been a bad bite from No. 5 Bistro and she’s thankful for such a fine establishment in Pettis County.

Stop in and say HI sometime to Taylor. She is always willing and able to help you find your next favorite record and book. Bring a friend or two and come hang out for the day. After all, history loves company.
