Life At Lamy’s: Austin and Emma Heubi
When it comes to finding a place to call home, sometimes life takes you on unexpected journeys. For Austin and Emma Heubi, their adventure led them from Mississippi to the charming town of Sedalia Missouri all thanks to a promising job offer. Let’s dive into their story and learn what brought them to our historic building and the unique apartments at Lamy’s.
The Journey to Sedalia
It all began with a job opportunity. Austin received an enticing offer to work at Load King, a local company in Sedalia. The prospect of this new chapter in their lives was exciting, and it meant relocating from Mississippi to the heart of Central Missouri.
Renting vs. Buying
When they embarked on this journey, Emma and Austin were initially looking for a rental property. It’s a decision that allowed them to explore their new surroundings and settle in before making any long-term commitments.
Lamy’s Apartments
Their quest for the perfect rental led them to an apartment listing on Zillow. The moment they contacted local realtor, Billie Barnes and scheduled a viewing, they knew they were onto something special. The unique charm of Lamy’s Apartments caught their attention right from the start.
The idea of living in a downtown loft had always appealed to them, and Lamy’s Apartments offered just that – a blend of historic character and modern comfort. It was a standout choice during their home search. May of 2021 marked the beginning of their journey at Lamy’s Apartments, and they’ve been loving every moment since.
Pros of Living at Lamy’s
Walking downtown or simply downstairs for a meal is a convenience they both cherish. The absence of yard maintenance means less stress and more time to enjoy their surroundings. Plus, having a Landlord that keeps up on the maintenance for you is another special perk of renting.
Life at No. 5 Bistro and Bar
One of The Heubi’s favorite perks of living at Lamy’s is having No. 5 Bistro and Bar right downstairs. Emma and Austin indulge in the delicious offerings about 2-3 times a month. Their favorite menu items include the mushroom ravioli and the mouthwatering garlic parmesan fries.
As for drinks, Austin favors the Bloody Maria, while Emma enjoys the refreshing blackberry mojito.
When it’s brunch time, they can’t resist the biscuit board or the delectable chicken biscuits with hot honey – a true treat for the taste buds. And we just have to pause and say, “These two have the best taste!”
One of their favorite dishes, no longer on the menu, was the Wagyu steak. It left a lasting impression during their early days at No. 5 Bistro and Bar and if they had the power to bring back any one dish, the Wagyu steak would be it!
The Future Beckons
As for the future, this year holds significant milestones. The couple is expecting their first baby at the end of March, adding an exciting chapter to their journey. Additionally, Emma will complete her Master’s degree this spring. Big things are on the horizon for this dynamic duo! We have loved having them be a part of our historic building and we love that they are living their life at Lamys.
